Spotted this large shrub as we walked through the village - never noticed it before, but was drawn to it by the sight of these lovely berries. Had to look it up and I think it's Sea Buckthorn must keep an eye one it in Spring to see it flower

  1. Good Morning Sue,

after three wonderful weeks at An Skyber we are all safe home again and have to be content with all the lovely pictures you produce during your walks.
You are right, it is Sea Buckthorn, the berries are full of Vitamin C, but without frost they are very acerbic.
My wifes favourite jam is made from these berries.
    Regards
    Gerd

    1. Morning Gerd & all
Really pleased that you all enjoyed your stay at An Skyber - we did come past a couple of times in the evening & saw the flag of Bochum flying.
Strange that I've never noticed the Sea Buckthorn before as we walk past it most days. Hopefully no frost just yet, but we're off to the beach when the tide has dropped a bit. Sue
