Tanker Hellespont Progress that had been at anchor over towards The Lizard for several days, obviously decided that going round in circles was better than trying not to drag it's anchor all night
Must have been quite an uncomfortable night out there -
The Newlyn Hake fishing vessel Ajax had suffered gearbox trouble yesterday lunchtime and had to be towed by the Isles of Scilly Lifeboat The Whiteheads and was then met by the Penlee lifeboat near Wolf Rock to hand over the tow. The Penlee Cox also handed over some Kentucky Fried Chicken for the Scilly Crew as it had been a long job and they still had to get back to St Mary's.  The weather then worsened to a Force 7 gale and it was a long slow tow to get Ajax back to her home port of Newlyn.
