The landed on this post
If you look closely you can see it had lunch clutched in its talons.
I lost sight of it and we set off down the muddy footpath only to see it fly up from just in front of us.
The dogs then proceeded to go on point and froze with their noses close to the ground - I poked gently at the weeds where they were pointing and found a little brown furry thing, which I left alone - just in case it wasn't dead. The Kestrel went up onto the hedge and didn't seem to come back for its lunch and was hunting over the field again.
