As I drove down the Penzance by-pass I just couldn't pass these fields of Daffodils without stopping to take some photos. It's rather sad to see them in full flower as they should have been picked long ago.
I had to zoom the lens through a collection of lamp posts and telegraph poles as I'd had to turn off the by-pass and park to get a view.
Strange to see this sight on a day when the forecast for most of the country is snow and possible blizzards.

This must be a cheerful sight on a dull winter day. Thanks for stopping to get a photo. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey did look quite beautiful and cheerful.
DeleteIt's pouring with rain now and really blowing a gale - for a large part of the country which is much colder than us this rain will turn to snow - very nasty !
Lovely! Are these for cut flowers or for bulbs do you think?
DeleteNot sure if they were supposed to be cut flowers, but they've possibly come on so fast that they couldn't get the pickers on there in time - might now take them up for bulbs. Saw several mini-bus's of workers being driven through Penzance - lots of work for them at the moment as the Cauliflowers are also ready.
DeleteNo snow for us - just very heavy rain for most of the night - but most of the rest of the country is getting it - nasty ! Sue
