Large flock of what looked like mixed Finches - as I could see Chaffinches, Bramblings and Goldfinches and one of the photos seemed to have Greenfinches as well. They were alongside a flock of Starlings and were continually flying into the hedges and back to the ground.

  2. I well remember a Winter like this when we were in Leics. -12 and everything frozen for ages - must be starting to get everyone down !
I've been putting more food out for the birds - caught next doors Cat tucking into the Peanuts - hope they didn't make him ill. I can't put it in the garden as there's always "spillage" and Wooster would eat it, so I have to feed them at the front where the cat & Magpies can also get to it - tricky ! Rain just arriving at the moment - nasty on frozen roads !
