  1. Phew, lots of white caps in the bay. I also had a lovely walk today on the beach by the Hotel del Coronado where the Prince of Wales is supposed to have first clapped eyes on Wallis Simpson...so history goes.

    1. It certainly was a windy day - bet the water was warmer over there !
Just checked out the Hotel del Coronado - it's huge ! and with an award winning beach as well. It's like a massive version of some of the hotels you see down here in the Westcountry - all built in the same period I suppose.
Much more cloud dashing across the sky from the East today.

    2. The Victorian part of the Hotel del is supposed to be the biggest wooden structure in the world, so they say. Yes the beach is wide and lovely for walks, but not interesting for a shell, sand dollar, or sea glass collector like myself. However the houses on Coronado are very interesting - lots of Craftsman style homes which are my favorite. Also getting to Coronado across the big bridge spanning SD harbour makes it feel as if you are going to an island - even though it is a peninsula. Always a pleasant outing just 20 mins from home.
