Mike gave me the heads up to be on the lookout for this plane this week.
There I was reading my electricity meter down by the garage door when I heard a plane and looked up - there it was right overhead, I rushed back inside and up the stairs, through the lounge and out of the patio doors - just in time to get a few shots off. Phew !
It is a Canadian Airforce CP-140 Aurora - which is at RNAS Culdrose this week. It was just arriving after flying non stop from Newfoundland having started at 3am
"As Canada’s only strategic maritime surveillance aircraft, the
CP-140 Aurora is often used to patrol Canada’s coastlines, safeguarding
our waters from foreign threats. Capable of flying more than 9000 km—or
5000 nautical miles—without refuelling, this multi-purpose aircraft goes
the distance."

Well caught , undercarraige down , probably on final approach . Regards .. M
ReplyDeleteMeant to comment on that in the written bit - Amazed it was still within my camera range when I eventually got onto the balcony ! Didn't know I could run that fast ! Sue
