My favourite gig was out tonight - the Mount's Bay Gig Clubs training gig, Lady Sue - only about six weeks until the World Championships on Scilly

  1. Where is their gig shed Sue? Do they train every Monday evening?
Hope to get on Firebrand IV to watch at least one of the races on Scilly this year when we're there, but that's after visiting Perranuthnoe. We'll be listening to the radio broadcast of the World Championship races again this year on the internet. You can catch the excitement just listening. Great fun.
(I used to row on the Thames many many years ago... not quite the same kind of boat though!!!)

    1. I think that the gig shed is a building on the car park right by the entrance to the beach - where I took a photo the other day) I've never seen the gigs on land, but I've seen them pulling them in that direction. Not sure how often they train as we only see them either if they appear round Maên Dhu Point or if we are dog walking in that direction.
Do hope they get good weather for The Championships, it always looks wonderful with the sun on a blue sea !
Not that long before you head West to Perranuthnoe !

  2. I'm trying to keep myself contained for the next four weeks and 2 days (who's countng???) and not get too excited. That's why I have to keep getting an injection from your photos. It gives us an idea of where we should visit.
