Penrose Walk

After collecting Hetty the Yeti in Helston, we drove down to the car park by the river and walked the dogs along the Penrose walk towards Loe Pool. The Daffodils really brightened up the woodland walk - most of it was fairly sheltered from the bitter wind, but it was still very cold.
So pretty & Springlike - although it wasn't feeling like Spring
Just a few Primroses on the bank as well - and lots of Bluebells to come later

  1. How lovely. Soon will be bluebell time and that is a favorite walk when I am that way.

    1. Just after you've gone through the gate by the lodge, there was a sign pointing to a newly done Bluebell Walk through the woods - should be nice !

    2. Such a pretty sight. I wonder if the bluebells will still be around by the time we arrive.

    3. With the weather we're having at the moment Betty it might be Summer before they flower He He ! Ice on the footpath - even right by the cliffs - temperature 1c with a wind chill factor that takes it down to -4c or so, brr - even in the sun ! Hopefully the weather will change direction soon and we'll be back to our more normal S to SW winds - just checked when we went to visit Enys Gardens and it was early May last year !

    4. I went to Enys to see the bluebells two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the walled garden. So many hidden treasures around Cornwall. I also seem to remember they were selling coffee and walnut cake with their teas. Yum!

    5. The tricky part is finding it - not enough signposts, we drove all the way round it last year - but got there in the end for lovely tea and cakes - and bluebells of course !

  2. Sounds like we might be there at the right time, but it does depend on the weather I guess. Wasn't able to bring up your post on Enys Gardens bluebells. Never mind, maybe I will go there myself this year.
Sorry you have been experiencing such cold weather. Pity you can't teleport yourself over here. Our weather would certainly thaw you out. A record consecutive ten days over 30C for March in Melb. Yesterday was 35C with a very warm night. Cool change today. Just heard on radio that it has arrived on the outskirts of Melb.!

    1. I'm not easily pleased - I expect I'd be complaining I was too hot !
I don't know if the white box appears right at the top of the blog - on the left hand side - if it does just type in Enys Gardens and click on the magnifying glass to search the blog and all the posts of the bluebells should appear.
Hope you have a lovely cool night and that the days don't cool too much !
