Scillonian III eventually left Penzance at 2.30pm and here's a few shots of what was probably the worst part of her trip - once she turned towards Scilly her speed was much better - with the wind more or less behind her.
Taking a nosedive off Mousehole
and just beyond Mousehole - nasty !
She's not scheduled to return this evening, but on
Saturday 30th March 2013
Scillonian III will sail at the following times:
Ex St Marys at 6am - NO PASSENGERS OR FREIGHT
Ex Penzance at 10am (check in opens at 8.30am)
Ex St Marys at 3pm (check in opens 1.45pm)
here's Mike's view of SCIII heading out yesterday past Mousehole - looks like she's got some Kayaks on board - they will have had a good wash !
A scuffly old trip today Sue.
ReplyDeleteOnce she was beyond a certain point she seemed to be going well - unless the 15.7knots was when she was surfing down a wave !
DeleteShe's got a busy day tomorrow.
A bit rough!...love Keith's description!...snowing here, in great big flakes gently drifting down, and laying...again!after this winter we all deserve a wonderful summer(especially on 'Scilly' in June!)it can't possibly snow then....can it ? thanks for all the wonderful pictures.macca.
ReplyDeleteThese sailors must be a tough breed.
DeleteSunshine here this morning with SCIII just coming down past Lamorna - she's not being going as fast as the recent trips - but at least the wind has dropped.
We still haven't seen proper snow flakes this Winter - just these strange little balls of snow. Hope yours doesn't hang around and that the day warms up a bit. Sue
