PERRANUTHNOE is a small village on the South Coast of Cornwall, just East of Marazion, there is a Car Park and sloping access to a safe sandy beach and the beachside Cabin Cafe. It has The Victoria Inn a superb multi award winning pub, which serves super food both lunchtimes & evenings, - a Church dating back as far as 1160. The Lynfield Centre which houses The Cowhouse Gallery, The Peppercorn Cafe and a hairdressers.

Still a bit of haze as we walked the dogs out towards Marazion this morning.
Sorry that's all for today as it's our wedding anniversary and we're off to The Vistoria for a meal - and strangely it takes longer to get ready every year !
I'll tackle the rest of the photos tomorrow morning.

    1. Many thanks Betty, lovely meal as always and it won't be long before you'll be able to try the lovely local dishes they offer there - Lovely Hake for me - from one of the Newlyn trawlers & steak for Jim, this time. Sue

    1. The Hake is a lovely white fish and tastes delicious - very popular in restaurants these days. Several boats from Newlyn go a long way West until they're South of Ireland - often in appalling weather. Alan on Ajax has just managed to get back at 6.50am with enough boxes to total 500 for the week (not all Hake) - and he's back in time for Mothering Sunday !
This was his tweet as he steamed towards home
"Our week 500bxs 4days fishing,3days steaming in a 42year old wooden fishing vessel - no fish in the sea my ar-e!!" - A message for Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall who has a program on TV & keeps insisting there's no fish left - he'd better not come to Newlyn any time soon !

  5. Happy Anniversary and thanks for all the lovely pics.
Hope the meal was good. We've eaten at The Victoria when visiting the area - but unfortunately the chef must have been on holiday as the meals have been, if i am kind, below average to say the least [or dreadful, if I am honest], can't chance wasting more money going there. Hope you were luckier and you had a lovely time.

    1. We did enjoy our meal thanks and pleased that you enjoy the photos.
Such a pity that you've had some bad meals at the Victoria - must admit that since they've opened the new place at Porthleven I think they may be a bit stretched. So many good restaurants around that good staff can be hard to find, but they certainly need to be careful not to lose their good reputation - hard to gain and far to easy to lose !

  6. Dear Sue and Jim, Happy Anniversary and best wishes from Bochum. We hope the weather will be not too bad in Perranuthnoe, for us the weatherforecast says winter will be back this night with snow and freezing temperatures. We had a wonderful time in Perranuthnoe and were so lucky with the weather.
Hope to be back later in the year.

    1. Many thanks Gerd, we had a good day and a lovely meal !
Our weather forecasts seem to be very similar - really nasty cold Easterly wind and possibly worse tomorrow - the fishing fleet are all in or on their way into Newlyn - you certainly had some of the best weather this year ! All the best, Sue & Jim

  7. Happy anniversary to you both. We frequented the Victoria last time we were there and we will again when we come back. Ha ha my choice would have been the hake which sounds delicious and my husband's would have been the steak too!
Cold biting wind today. What a change here too.
