  1. If you get a really high tide like this one does that mean you get a really low one as well?

    1. Yes, the Spring Tides are really high and really low - and according the the barometric pressure at the time can be higher than expected or lower than expected. Low pressure allows the tide to go higher especially in stormy conditions. Our garden in Tresillian was once full of river water due to those conditions sending the tidal surge right up the Tresillian river from Falmouth. Sue

  2. Wow! It's amazing how so many things (including the moon)influence our tides. Just asking because I was finding out what the tides are doing when we are there next week and there are a couple of days the following week 24th/25th/26th which appear to be big tides, which means I can get on the beach a bit further round eastwards and try and find that anchor. I like to have a goal :)

    1. Haven't got a tide book this year - meant to pick one up from the Post Office in Marazion. So I just take a look at each week online. But to find the anchor you possibly need the sand to be fairly low as well as it may well be covered most of the time. Sue
