So glad that you had such lovely weather today. It looks so much nicer now, even if there is probably a chill wind. I am so impressed with your bird knowledge too! We took part this year in Cornell's Backyard Bird Count, and My husband and I had to have the Western Bird's Guide out all the time. The backyard birds are a little unfamiliar here - same names, but different sizes and coloring.
ReplyDeleteYou can't see me when I'm posting the bird photos with Collins Bird Guide next to me ! I usually have an idea of what they are, but like to check. We've had Terns fishing out in front of us for the last couple of mornings - probably Sandwich Terns as that's what has been reported in Marazion - nice to see ! Won't be long before the Swallows arrive - what a shock they'll get if it hasn't warmed up ! I've noticed the difference in colour in US birds - more of a challenge for you !
DeleteLovely photos on a lovely day. Must have lifted your spirits. So good when the birds start to sing again after cold winter days.
ReplyDeleteIt was a super day and we've got the same again today - I was just in the garden and I was serenaded by a bird up in the Pine tree - must feel wonderful to have bit of warmth after the cold. Terns diving in the sea again briefly this morning - I think they will carry on North to their Summer homes.
