Called in at Marazion Marsh on my way back from a shopping trip to M & S. The sky was much brighter out at sea, but for us it was just a grey day.
My first opportunity to get a photo of one of the open top buses that go through Marazion and out to St Ives. There's also one that goes all the way along the North Coast Road to Lands End.
On certain days, that must be quite a ride!
ReplyDeleteI've seen folk on the open deck in pouring rain - but determined to get the best view !
DeleteWe have done the trip several times, spectacular!,quite hair raising at some points, but a wonderful trip especially on the top deck!must say it looks a bit odd on little country lanes, but a super trip.macca
ReplyDeleteIt does look incongruous as it goes along the tiny North Cast Road, and one comes into the village in high season - and they do seem to be popular. I'm sure they're cutting the roof of even more of the elderly buses that we get down here. Sue
DeleteMorning Sue,
ReplyDeletewe've done the trip round West-Penwith several times in rain or shine, even with thick fog on some parts of the journey. It is worth doing it, you only need a first-day ticket which is really cheap and then can take the 300 Bus either via Marazion and St.Ives or the other direction via Newlyn and Porthcurno. There is only one thing to mention, only during peak season they head for Porthcurno, out of season the bus takes the direct route on the A30 towards Lands End. Especially from the rooftop you can see things like the Merry Maidens you can't see when travelling by car.
Highly recommended
Gerd
Didn't know that they went out to Porthcurno as well ! I'm sure that the view from the open deck is super - but don't think that the dogs would like it ! Really hoping we get some fine days so that we can get out and about a bit. Sue
