After so much cold weather, it's quite surprising to see the Hottentot Figs flowering all along the wall
Sad to see all the Valerian in full bloom and no Butterflies to enjoy it !

  1. Red valerian is such a lovely wild flower. I miss it. Enjoying looking back at all your posts and marvelling at the intensity of the blue sky and sea. Not so keen on the Hottentot figs though. They are what we call ice plant here and carpet every motorway slope. However, they do save houses during wildfires - and we are promised a very dry summer, so here we go again!

  2. Pleased you got home safely Lynn, it's been nice to have the blue sky - but the wind has been cold until the last couple of days. The Hottentot Figs are from the Southern Hemisphere, but they do a good job of holding the Corcnish Hedges together - Ice plant over here is a very different plant - can't seem to get it to grow very big at all.
These long range forecasts can be very depressing - ours is for another "changeable Summer" hope it's not the same as last year !
