Some streaky clouds had been blown in by the N W wind as Jim walked the dogs on the fields above Trenow
Still looking lovely down in Mount's Bay
A beautiful evening, so I barbecued some lovely fish for dinner - just noticed on the webcams that there's sea mist out towards Lands End - hope it clears before morning - update - it has cleared !
So that's what those flowers are called! I learn so many bird and flower names from your blog - thank you. My favorite is Alexanders - I never knew that one, and I took A level Botany at Truro Grammar School. Shame on me.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't know the Alexanders - until Jim went on a Natural Eating kind of ramble locally and was told what they were and that they are edible !
ReplyDeleteThe Whistling Jacks were grown as a flower crop on Scilly many years ago and so have spread all over the Islands - and are busy doing the same here in Cornwall - such a lovely colour. The thing about A levels is that you probably learned lots of foreign plants etc, but not the native ones - don't recall seeing them as much in the Midlands, but I think they liked the wet weather last Summer as they are taking over here !
