First stop was Sennen Cove, looking lovely at high tide this morning
The new Lifeboat slipways and Whitsand Bay in the background
A slightly hazy view of Cape Cornwall
Jim managed to tuck the car off the road so that we could take a photo of the view down to the cove
Very envious ! We stayed at Boswedden House several times,on the road to Cape Cornwall,so your wonderful pictures brought back some very happy memories...thankyou Sue.We walked a lot of the coastal path...glorious views. We loved the story about Arthur Lowe....couldn't imagine Captain Mainwaring doing that ! macca.
ReplyDeleteWe don't make our way towards the North Coast very often as the dog walking is so tricky due to the high cliffs, but wheneverr we do we love it ! We were so lucky with the weather - the warmest day of the week. We were wondering if we should go down to Cape Cornwall, but there was not time for everything as we needed to arrive at Zennor in time for some lunch.
DeleteI must admit the cliffs terrified me ! I was a bit nimbler in those days (in fact a lot nimbler !) I quite understand you not taking the dogs ! Hope Betty and her friend have a safe journey home.macca.
DeleteWe met a group of four walker (probably in their early 40s) who had just walked to Zennor from St Ives - they were really tired and hoping to get a bus bac to St Ives - it's not the distance it's the ups and downs !
DeleteBetty & Barbara are not finished yet !- several more weeks of firstly UK all the way up to Edinburgh & The Orkneys where Barbara has a cousin, then they join a coach trip for more gardens - ending up at The Chelsea Flower Show - then off to Copenhagen to stay with a friend Europe visits to friend - they are due to arrive home on 10th June - the day we go to Scilly. Phew ! sue
Looks like Betty and friend had a lovely day out with you all. The weather looked stunning.

The forecast was for a cooler day with some cloud - how wrong they were (what a suprise !) The only cloud we saw was when we were at Sennen, after that it was just lovely blue sky and no real wind at all. Jim was a real star managing to drive and then stop when Betty spotted something !
DeleteHope they are not too tired to go to The Mount today as they're off on Saturday morning. Sue
You can warn Betty and Barbara that it's a bit chillier and very windy up here at the moment. They need to go to the Botanics in Edinburgh, when they get up. Fingers crossed for the same weather when we get down. Message got through. Many thanks.
