Thunder and Lightening, very very frightening !

I emerged from my slumbers at around 6am to the sound of rumbling thunder - it got closer and closer and therefore louder with lots of flashes - so I thought I'd better get up in case Wooster & Tilly were upset. Wooster was standing by the bedroom door, but wasn't shaking and Tilly was still snoozing.  I just got them down to the garden in light rain (& more thunder) when suddenly the rain was really hammering down. - Still the garden and fields needed it !
There it was and it seemed to hang around for hours
Jim thought that the rain was more or less stopped, so off he went - getting very wet due to the plants leaning over the footpath and due to the fact that the rain came down hard again. He then forgot to wipe the dogs with a towel, so they arrived upstairs along with the distinct "wet dog odour" They were sent back downstairs for a towelling down !
