On the way home we passed Stonehenge rather slowly, due to road works, so I was able to get a last shot through the car window. We had a good journey without any major delays - thank goodness and we were pleased to feel a lovely sea breeze when we arrived home - although the house was like an oven and the pool water is up to 98f

  1. I have not been to Stonehenge since I was around five, and those were the days with very few other people around, so you could walk in among the stones and squeeze between them for a photo op.
Your pictures of Streatly make me realize that this is a part of England I have never visited - very Wind in the Willows with all the different boats going about their business.
    Your meals look delicious too.

    1. Stonehenge is very diifferent now - large car & coach park - not sure if that is goin to move along with the visitor centre - and people justhave to walk around the perimeter - foreign folk can have a small unit to give them a commentary in their own language as they walk. In a way it was much nicer in the old days - I gather Avebury geets less atteention & is much nicer to view - would love to go and see it.
Jim likes to go back to see his old cycling grounds - and of cousee e enjoyed the food - well most of it ! Sue

  2. Welcome back!

Amazing pictures of your trip up to Steatly. I can't believe you've managed to get a Kingfisher! Now dreading the drive along past Stonehenge. Hopefully TomTom, will get us out of that one! Hopefully the weather will stay like this until after we've been down and back! Four weeks and counting! Hopefully we may get the chance to meet up?

    1. Don't worry about Stonehenge - the usual main road A303 is fine - just some minor roadworks - the roundabout trip we took was because the dogs needed to get out of the car for a while - so we had to take the new route to actually get to the car park ! You should be fine !
Weather rather misty & damp this morning - plenty of time yet ! Saw Wendy just before we left - she'd just been in the sea - she's so brave ! Know that your phone struggles down here, but we're not going anywhere so hope to see you ! Sue
