The last of the Thames visit photos - then back to Perranuthnoe

It had been really foggy overnight, but when we got up the mist was just rolling back out to sea - so off we went !
As we drove along the A30 approaching the St Austell clay hills the mist was still in the valleys
We arrived at Stonehenge as we like to walk the dogs up this hill as it's usually breezy up there and you get a view of the stones - when we got out of the car after several hours of air conditioned cool the heat was a real shock and there was no breeze on the top of the burial mound
The road that used to run right past has now been oficially closed and they are building a new visitor centre - rather a long way away - and the route to get to the car park is now rather a round about one.
I think we were all glad to get back into Hetty and carry on to Streatley.

    1. We're pleased to be back - really windy today, but very welcome ! We did enjoy the trip and the food, but it's always lovely to cross The Tamar and feel we're home ! Sorry that the computer is still misbehaving, they can be very annoying. Sure your son will sort it out for an offering of food or drink ! Sue

  2. Your photo's bring back many happy memories for us visiting the Thames area, it's been 4 years since we were there, hopefully will go again sometime, had many lovely meals in the Beatle & Wedge in the past.

What a change you had in the weather this year from your last visit.

Thankfully we haven't had any of the fog and mist that other areas of Cornwall have experienced this week, could do with some of the wet stuff at night for the garden.
Thanks for all the wonderful photo's. Much appreciated.

    1. So very pleased that you enjoyed the photos - we just can't stop taking them, so might as well share them ! We had never managed to eat at The Beetle & Wedge before - had always wanted to, so this time we booked as soon as we had booked the hotel - wonderful food and such a super place.
The weather was almost too far the other way as with no breeze it was stifling and we got quite concerned about Tilly, so we had an easy day on the last day and we all sat in the shade and watched the boats go by. She seems very happy to be home ! Sue
