Although it wasn't sunny, it was quite nice walking weather, so I took the dogs out towards Marazion Churchyard and back along the coast to The Cabin Beach Cafe.
Over the fields I spotted this large group of Hirundines (Swallows, Martins or Swifts) zooming around and making their lovely happy shrieks - sad to think they are gathering and ready for this big trip South - it doesn't seem that long since they arrived !

  1. Lovely to see and hear,we haven't seen that many over the garden this year but sitting by the river today the swallows were swooping very low in front of us.As you rightly say they don't seem to have been here very long.Time flies !!macca.

    1. They were late arriving this year - but still on time leaving - it's all about daylight. Not as many in the barns up at Trebarvah as usual and only one nest occupied in a garage where there are usually two, with a third nest just outside. Sadly I suspect last Summer was to blame !
The Young Ospreys at the Dyffi in Wales will be very late as they haven't even fledged yet. Both mum & dad are great at catching the fish, so hopefully less daylight hours won't affect them too much. Sue
