I walked up to the spot that is so famous for photos of giant waves splashing over the top of the clock tower - barely even a wave at all today.
The beach all the way along to Loe Bar

  1. I enjoyed your photos of Porthleven today, and I have never noticed the Lime Kiln before after all the times I have walked along the harbourside. One of the reasons we moved to Cornwall was the three holidays we spent at Porthleven from 1962-65, and my parents realizing that it needn't be a holiday fortnight, but a year round home. I was thrilled! Sadly we never lived there even though they looked at a house overlooking the harbour and up above the Harbour Inn.

    1. We also used to holiday in Porthleven - before we bought the little cottage. We used to stay in a tiny place towards the top of the village, right above the cliff. great hearing the sea at night. Lots of the properties have been renovated now with modern balconies etc.
