Pengersick Castle. Praa Sands

I had to got to Praa Sands on a mercy mission - the dog chews I bought were too chunky and Wooster and Tilly were struggling to chew them and were not happy ! So I took the unopened packs back and changed them for "Westie sized" ones !
Whilst there I wandered down to Pengersick Castle as they are having an Open Day on Bank Holiday Monday and we wanted to go, but were unsure if we could take  the dogs  into the gardens - emailed the secretary of the Trust when I got home and the answer is Yes !  It's supposed to be a Haunted Castle - so it should be interesting.
I'm sure there's an Old Wives Tale about a Mountain Ash Tree with lots of berries

I don't know how many people living in the area look in - but just a warning - the speed limits along the A394 Penzance to Helston road have changed recently - it is now 30mph all the way along as you travel above Praa Sands  - Newtown to Germoe and also between Ashton & Breage.

  1. Fingers crossed you will be able to take some photo's of the Castle Gardens, would have loved to be there. We noticed the speed limit had been changed, bet it catches a few people out, someone overtook us doing over 50mph, there's always one that cannot wait.;-(( Thanks once again for the wonderful photo's.

    1. Busy day on Monday - Jim & I will be off early to the Fish Festival in Newlyn - back to pick up the dogs & off to Pengersick Castle - hope we can park - might be very busy as the Free Parking at R&J Stores gets busy with the beach goers as well. Might even have to bite the bullet andpark in the expensive one by the beach grrr ! Sue

  2. It's always said here that lots of berries are the sign of a bad winter to come ! Who knows ? The Mountain Ash certainly have an abundance this year ! macca.

  3. Yes I had heard that saying as well about the mountain ash. Lets hope it is wrong and we get a mild winter instead.
