Unusual sight of two Merlins flying around Mount's Bay together
"Two new Merlin HM MK2 . helicopters handed over to 824 NAS RNAS
Culdrose last month . n.b. the two horn like antennae under the nose
which distinguishes them from MK1's . The lead aircraft was Excalibor 83
,the other Excalibor 85 with the cabin door open ,they had a
photographer onboard. No doubt publicity photos or photos for a magazine
with the Mount as a backdrop? 824 Squadron is the Merlin training
Squadron at Culdrose." Many thanks for the info.
We then went down to the Peppercorn Kitchen Cafe to meet blog reader Lynn - over from USA at the moment - so good to meet her. We of course had Meringues & a cup of tea and a good chat.
As we came out of the Peppercorn it started to drizzle, so we went to Godolphin Woods, which of course the dogs loved !

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed meeting Jim and you, Sue. Hopefully we can catch up another time that I am back at Mawnan next year, and I can meet Tilly and Wooster too. It's a good job that I don't live near the Peppercorn as I would have to work my way through all those meringue flavours. Mmm...ginger next, followed by cardamom...
ReplyDeleteIt was great to meet you too Lynn. The Meringues are very tempting so we save them for special occasions ! Hope all goes well with the renovations at Mawnan. Sue
