PERRANUTHNOE is a small village on the South Coast of Cornwall, just East of Marazion, there is a Car Park and sloping access to a safe sandy beach and the beachside Cabin Cafe. It has The Victoria Inn a superb multi award winning pub, which serves super food both lunchtimes & evenings, - a Church dating back as far as 1160. The Lynfield Centre which houses The Cowhouse Gallery, The Peppercorn Cafe and a hairdressers.

And now for something completely different ! !

We walked up Boat Cove Lane to take a look at Karen's latest additions to her menagerie - two Rheas - as you can see they are like small Emus - I gather they are there to guard the hens from Foxes
Not sure which is the most dangerous part the feet or the beak - but that look is scary !
Strange thing was I could only see one hen !
But as we walked a little further alongside the field, we found them - they obviously prefer the Rheas house to their own  - wonder if they've been laying eggs in there - wouldn't want to have to collect those !

  1. They do look rather forbidding, and I wonder if they kick hard like emus and ostriches. A wide berth needs to be given in my opinion. Lynn

    1. I think you are right - those little legs look very powerful.
      When I checked on the internet it appears that they are getting quite popular - some are kept for their meat - a very different Christmas roast !
