In the news !

Rosudgeon (just along the Helston Road from Perranuthnoe) was on the local news last night when someone noticed this hole that had appeared just off the pavement, close to the Falmouth Packet Inn.
Cormac brought in a digger and they opened it up and found this shaft from an old Copper Mine - evidently quite deep.
By this afternoon they had already got the first part of a concrete cap on it - quick work !

  1. Glad it wasn't a sink hole a la Florida!

    1. They're not as big as the sinkholes, but the rain seems to be causing problems - another one opened up in Camborne and the side of a house fell down - fortunately the owners has seen there were cracks appearing and had moved out a few days before. You just never quite know where the old mine workings are around here as the mapping wasn't great. Sue
