Three photos of one leap by this Dolphin - sorry I could spend all night trying to get the colours the same.
I decided I'd been standing there long enough, so we turned and retraced our steps along the coast and up to Boat Cove Lane - a glance from higher up and I could still see them leaping every now and then.
What a treat to see the Dolphins - great shots! Nice green lawn and very neat:) The lawns are dry here. Whatever the mauve shrub is, it looks lovely. Not much flowering at the moment, I guess.
ReplyDeleteIt was super to see the Dolphins, they don't usually come to our side of Mount's Bay, but they had obviously found some big shoals of possibly either Sardine or Mackerel. Large numbers of diving birds as well - the local fishermen in the smaller boats have missed that lot !
ReplyDeleteThe Heather type shrub is Erica lusitanica - or tree heather - it is from Spain and Portugal. We have a small one somewhere - must look to see if it's still alive. ! As you say not much in flower at the moment - a few Camellias in the village and the Daffodils are almost out.
Lovely shots of the dolphins leaping. I have never seen them do that - except at Sea World (grr!)
ReplyDeleteSo lucky to have walked that way, could so easily have just done the shorter walk, but did wonder if they might be still around. I've never seen them leaping quite as high and often as that. I gather they came in to Mount's Bay from the West in the morning and stayed I suppose necause they found so much food. Don't know if the Shags and Cormorants follow the Dolphins, but we don't usually see that number - only on Scilly.
DeleteWhat a feast to view on a grey dismal morning !! Lovely shrub must have a look at the garden centre, our snowdrops are coming out daily with a few primroses and violets.Wonderful pictures of the Dolphins....what a bonus !! Loved the picture of Wooster....another 'I see no ships moment' ! thanks Sue. macca.
ReplyDeleteThe Tree Heather I would think is not hardy - we've always admired them when we were visiting in Winter, but I suspect they like a fair bit of shelter ours didn't do well where we put it, so we've moved it.
DeleteNot be seeing Dolphins today - got up early, but sadly the rain was just arriving and both us and the dogs hate it when it's windy and wet !
Don't think there'll be any Wooster shots this morning either - can't get hime outside in this weather ! Sue
