Surprising to see Bluebells up here
We've obviously never been here at Bluebell time before
Govenek of Ladram making her way back to Newlyn
Never seen so much water in this pond before and we've seen it dried out completely on one occasion
Always love this spot
Looking into the caves
Longships Lighthouse
Whilst we were standing here, Jim fed the dogs their lunch and repacked the rucsac ,
unfortunately -
we had walked quite a long way up a hill when he noticed that he hadn't picked up Tilly's lead - the dogs thought it was great fun going all the way back down again - then back up again, but Jim didn't enjoy it quite as much !
It is a lovely place but I have not been there since the 70s. Seeing it brought back memories though.
ReplyDeleteThe view from the Penzance bypass is one of the best of the Mount, and I have wondered too why no viewing spot was built there. I know you can get good views elsewhere, but looking down on it gives a very good vantage point.
Fires are continuing here with several homes lost now, but that will happen every few years if they continue the urban sprawl and go deeper into the back country. However we had nine fires yesterday, and it seems as if eight were deliberately set. Santa Anas bring out the crazies, just like the mistral is supposed to cause irrational behaviour,
I've always wondered why there are not lots of accidents on that lower part of the by-pass caused by people looking at the view !
DeleteSaw your fires on TV News, I would be terrified - so terrible to think that most of them are caused deliberately.
