Whilst I was hoovering the lounge I noticed that the Hibiscus bushes had suddenly burst into flower - hope they don't get too badly blown about this weekend

Well done for coming to the rescue of those poor holidaymakers. Hope they enjoy their stay and have some good weather next week. Perhaps not, have just seen the weather forecast, not looking good. Batten down the hatches, hope no damage will be done in Perranuthnoe.
ReplyDeleteWind still not as bad as we feared yet - looking at Magic Seaweed it looks as though the wind will get worse around 3am. Hope it's not too bad as I haven't had chance to tie all the patio furniture around the table to stop it "wandering" in the wind. SCIII is safe on the Eastern Arm and not going tomorrow.
DeleteHopefully the worst will be over by tomorrow, but the week is looking very mixed.
That was really very kind of you to step in and offer to have the family. Hopefully they will have the best holiday ever and appreciate your kindness. It looks like a wild and woolly start with the weather, but maybe once it blows through the weather will be as gorgeous as some of your recent pictures show.
ReplyDeleteThe worst of Bertha seems to have missed us - South Wales and along the South Coast look really nasty - as she moves on the wind will go round to the NW and possibly increase - but not much - just gusted a 50mph.
DeleteLooked on the Scilly webcams and the sun is out, so hopefully we'll see it soon as well.
So kind of you to help those holiday makers, we just can't imagine how they felt ....until Jim took things in hand and called the back up !!! ( can see the shiny halo's from here !) I'm sure they will send you a Christmas card this year !!! lifes never dull is it ? glad to know you have escaped the worst of the weather getting very windy here the hanging baskets are swinging in a very demented fashion ! lovely moonlight picture thanks Sue.macca
ReplyDeleteThey seem to have settled in OK and hopefully have everything they need. Couldn't imagine how awful it would have been to have to turn round and go all the way home - This end of Cornwall seems to be very full. The dogs are getting lots of "visitor" training - which they need as they're not used to others being in the house !
DeleteStill very windy this afternoon - lots of photos, but will have to enter them tomorrow - it takes ages on The Blog, whereas facebook the same photos whizz on.
Hope your weather calms down a bit - although the forecast here is for a breezy week. Sue
You are wonderful the way come to the rescue!
ReplyDeleteI read on the above comments that the worst of the weather seems to have passed by you, thankfully.
Hope you have a wonderful week ahead.
Betty
Fortunately double booking is a rare thing to happen, but we were glad to help - and the dogs need the training - which tends to entail lots of goodies !
DeleteLovely big moon again tonight and the forecast isn't too bad for the week. Sue
