Friday

Looking like a magic castle on a lake this morning
Everything so calm and still this morning - really was beautiful
Low Tide at Maen-dhu Point
Not too many people on the beach this morning as rain was expected a while later
The seats all ready for Susan and her phone
If you've ever wondered what a house built of cob looks like - without the rendering outer coat then here you are - mud and stones. Specialists were chipping off the outer coat this morning to reveal this, on the old cottage next to The Victoria.

  1. Our cottage is cob with granite cornerstones, and the cob repair people sent me a picture of it when they were recobbing it. It looked just like that, and I realised the place was just old bits of stone and straw that were in amongst the mud - and cow manure too, no doubt!

    1. I think they used all of that and horse hair - almost anything that was around. It's stood - just like your cottage for so many years it will be fine, This one hasn't had any tlc. for a long time, so in need of some ! The one next door has been totally renovated and looks superb, so hopefully this one will as well. Sue
