It was looking rather grey so we just walked the dogs round to Ednovean
Just part of the huge flock of Goldfinches that were zooming around the fields - rather in the manner of the Starlings
Not looking great as we arrive at the top of the hill
I was told that this is known as a Mackerel Sky. and the saying goes - "Mackerel in the sky, three days dry," "Mackerel sky, mackerel sky. Never long wet and never long dry,"
Love these old sayings it makes you wonder the origin. All those Goldfinches.....quite amazing ! We had a super day 'up north' so warm we sat on the harbour wall at Wells.....pity the tide was out ! nice and quiet after the busy summer.... then we went to Blakeney...that was a different story.....in one end and out the other....absolutely packed ! Lovely tranquil pictures this week....but all changing this weekend.!! Thanks Sue.macca
ReplyDeleteStrange that Wells isn't regarded as "trendy" etc. whereas Blakeney & I though Brancaster seem to have been adopted by the people from the London area. When we used to go it was mainly people from the East Midlands etc.
DeleteHeavy rain overnight here and grey skies hopefully just clearing. Sue
