Still there when we got home
Such a pity that a lovely fine late afternoon will be followed by a nasty rainy day tomorrow
Found this Yucca in full flower hiding behind a leaning Echium
and this is one that I call a "Tryfidd" strange how they appear at this time of year
Just as the colour was fading
Jim decided that since it is 5th November he'd burn the annual bonfire since no one can really complain today !and Jim had noted that the wind would carry the smoke away from the village - in fact all the way to Cudden Point !
That is quite a bonfire! Do people not have bonfires and fireworks anymore, or is it all organised shows?
ReplyDeleteThere were some family fireworks as well as some larger displays - but not usually with a bonfire as well - we just thought it needed doing and it seemed a good evening to do it. Rather comically it included 2 ugly fire doors that we replaced last Winter - they did burn - eventually ! Really windy this morning and its smoking a bit.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good stay over here and managed to get all the things done that you hoped to. Sue
Thanks, I managed to accomplish most things, and enjoyed a visit from a friend from Diss. The weather wasn't the greatest with all the sea mist, but made a change from dry heat.
