As the afternoon wore on the weather got worse, with a misty gloom and drizzle, so it was off to Friendship Woods for Jim & the dogs. One of the larger trees had come crashing down since they were last there. It's not a wood to go to in a big gale !
Lots of Fungi had appeared through the pine needles - fortunately the dogs are not interested in them
Some of the Christmas Lights in Goldsithney as Jim drove home
Re: your earlier comment about SD's rain. We had quite a bit, but the day they warned we would get over an inch and a half, it was sunny. The forecasting here is pathetic in spite of all kinds of gadgets. However, the soaking we had in the middle of Tuesday night has meant I can turn off the sprinklers and stop using liquid gold, or at least that is what my water bill tells me it is. One bright spot is that we have had 4 inches of rain since the official start to the rainy season, so we are 2 inches above the average for this time of year. Hope it is getting stored and not just running down the storm drains.
ReplyDeleteReally pleased that you've had enough rain to make a difference, but not enough to cause flooding. Hope that the sprinklers can stay off for a while !
