Fine sunny and warm morning
Nice beach this morning
After Jim got home I went into Penzance where the harbour was very empty
I carried the camera with me as I didn't need too much - walked down past The Admiral Benbowand had a coffee at The Jubilee Pool Cafe where you can get a good view of the repair and renovation work that has just started. The Menu at the cafe looked wonderful

10:00am until midday this Sunday, August 16 - come and share the amazing
lifeboat history.
Some of the super silk flags flying along the promenade
Gry Maritha was loading for another trip to Scilly - with a long line of lorries waiting to offload for her - total havoc because of all the extra visitors trafficIn the wet dock was the Mackerel Driver Guide Me - Built in 1911 she has sailed around the world
Sand Snipe getting a makeover in the Dry Dock - as is the Dry Dock roof
The tide was coming in fast and flowing into the Dry Dock Pool, bringing lots of fish with it
Down on the mud in the harbour there were quite a number of Turnstones
Happy Return back in her usual spot in the harbour
Harbour filling up fast !
Did our walkies in reverse this evening so here is the ramp with people still enjoying the water
Still really calm this afternoon
Really lovely Wall Brown Butterfly
Spotted this pedal/kayak out in front of us this evening
Thanks for the trip around Penzance Sue. I lived for a time by the Ross Bridge by the Abbey Slip. It was great watching Scillonian go out each day and hear the rattling in the yacht masts and lovely memory. Ann x
ReplyDeleteI quite enjoyed my slightly more leisurely trip around Penzance, so often I dash in pay for 1 hour, so have no time to wander ! Wanted to see what was going on with Jubilee Pool as they have put up a board fence all around - except for the area around the cafe - so a good excuse for a coffee ! Have to admit that the noise of the clanking on the masts would drive me mad, but I love to see the Harbour in the Summer when it's full of boats of all shapes and sizes. Sue
