Down came the rain - wet Jim and dogs !
I was just heading for the car when I spotted this small Hummingbird Hawkmoth flitting about on the Valerian
Very nippy little chap
Beautiful Red Admiral - one of several that were on the Valerian
Think this is a Pilot Cutter crossing the bay this afternoon
The clouds did disperse and it was a fine afternoon - sorry my camera came home, so I was busy getting the strap back on etc. and forgot to take any photos
We walked up to Oamaru at Trebarvah to have a chat with our visitors
As we walked back down towards Perranuthnoe Wolf Rock Lighthouse was really clear
Early evening and the sun shone on the Lugger Happy Return
The sun as it was dropping down behind a huge bank of cloud - so no proper sunset
Seemed to be all around us !
You have to love a lugger, don't you? The rusty sails could be from an old painting. The morning sky looked so ominous, but I feel it in my bones that there may be an Indian Summer around the corner - at least that's what I am wishing for when we visit.
ReplyDeleteAlways love to see Happy Return - her sails have bleached over the years from brown to the reddish hue - rather like my hair used to go in the Summer - when the colour was all mine !
DeleteThink I read that we should have a reasonable September - possible hint of an Indian Summer - then very changeable October/November - there again they have trouble forecasting tomorrow don't they !
