Who goes there !
We decided to try the walk over the cattle field again
Up the hill to Trebarvah we went
The wall at Oamaru Barn is looking lovely
The cattle were just making their way through to the next field, so we just walked around them - giving them a wide berth
There's always one !
Looks like a field of Onions
Still haven't found one with a bee inside the flower
The Early Purple Orchids that we saw a few weeks ago were well past their bestBut here - specially for Kathy in St Austell are lots more that we found - these were right on top of the wall, almost hidden by other plants
I decided to carefully check the other side of the wall and there they were - huge number of them
Still looking lovely and fresh
Stunning sight - just a pity that there was so much else growing around them
Super spot when you arrive back at the coast
What was left of the beach was getting crowded
Looking East to Cudden Point
There was quite a breeze up on the hill, but today it was welcome as it was so warm
Penzance yacht Windtalker
Having fun in the eddys
Seal lounging on some submerged rocks
Think that this must be a Whitethroat - never seen one before
It was singing beautifully
Strange how the Daisies are only growing on the footpath
Lots of huge patches of Germander Speedwell
So pretty when you look at it closely
Skybus sight seeing flights have been turning over the village
We stopped off for coffee and cake at The Cabin
We then popped down to look at what was left of the beach
Really stunning day
Jim feeding his "baby"
Still glorious when it was time for afternoon walkies
Lovely light this afternoon
Still busy down on the beach
Superb photos! Your garden is looking lovely. Cornwall at it's best today! Thank you Sue.

DeleteBeautiful flowers and scenery.....and weather ! We had the heating on all day ! brr ! A night of thunder and lightning and torrential rain...still raining...think i'll return to Cornwall !(via your lovely photo's ! thank you Sue.macca.(just looked at the Minack webcam....what a difference four hundred and fifty miles make !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have been so lucky - after missing the heat wave a few weeks ago ! Must have been our turn. Fine again today - then possibly not as good.
DeleteSaw a message from friends that are in Lincolnshire in their caravan and had a terrible thunder storm. Hope it soon clears away and you get some sun. Sue
So glad that you had a sunny Bank Holiday. Our Federal holiday yesterday, Memorial Day, was grey and overcast, as it has been since we got off the plane on Saturday evening, and the same today. However, I can't complain as it helps the garden to survive the heat to come. I really enjoy seeing your flowers and birds because it keeps me up to date with the seasons in Cornwall. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeletePleased you got home safely - the fine weather has been great, but like you I think I would struggle to cope with it all the time. Good to see the visitors with happy faces - even if there are rather too many of them Sue
DeleteIt's the first thing I do when I get in from work be it 3pm or 10.30pm is view your blog. Your photos really brighten my day. Reminders of places we have been many times and also places not visited yet. Roll on August when we have our holiday. Anne.
ReplyDeleteToo many people here at the moment to venture out too far, so I'm afraid the photos will be mainly of our usual walkies - and I'm busy getting ready for our holiday to The Isles of Scilly. Here's hoping you get the kind of weather we've had this week when you come down on holiday, Sue
