Thursday

Another odd looking day with low cloud and some blue sky

A little brightness on The Mount

Started to look better by mid morning
I went into town around lunchtime as the traffic tends to have cleared a little
Gry Maritha on the outside of the dock
Lugger Happy Return arriving back from a trip to Scilly
Not quite as many people in Jubilee Pool today
The Dry Dock now empty and ready for ????
possibly Gry Maritha
Some paddle board coaching in the dry dock pool
Mali Rose arriving back from Scilly and going straight into the wet dock
Johanna Lucretzia out and about today
Noticed that the Pineapple plants (Eucomis) are flowering
Very dark low cloud out to the West again

Wasn't cold
and bright at times

Still some on the beach
I went into Penzance  and saw Scillonian III arriving - does engine give way to both sail and oar ?
In she came
I had come into Penzance as the sign was reading that Ross Bridge was going to close at 7pm  - I knew as soon as I got there it wasn't tonight as you can see the tide was still well down
Poor Gry she really does need a little TLC

  1. Hi Sue, your Eucomis is looking good, I bought a bulb several years ago now and it has multiplied, have given several away but still have a big clump of about 20. Also have a small burgundy foliage one in the greenhouse called Eucomis Octopus, sadly it has not increased for some reason, but well worth growing if you can find one. Looks like the weather is going to be good for the Porthleven Lifeboat day, enjoy both of you, and we look forward to your photo's of their special day. Thanks so much.

    1. The Eucomis was here when we bought the house - hope it does multiply now we've moved it. Weather forecast is rather strange - Met office on BBC1 keeps showing the rain by 9am but all the others show it later Hmm !
