Scillonian III leaving for Scilly later than usual due to the Spring Tides. Only a little over a month until she's finished until the Spring
I took the dogs down to the beach - really massive beach
Skybus Islander on a scenic tour came right past the beach - must have looked wonderful from up there
We walked along the beach towards Trevean
No running about today
Just some paddling
Wonderful view of The Mount over Maen-dhu Point
People sitting on the seats looking at The Mount
I did let Tilly off several times, but each time she shot off in the wrong direction
Haven't seen the hole in the cliff at the Western end of the beach since the Spring
Don't think it's got any bigger
Amazingly calm sea this morning
Some good people were doing a beach clean and found an old tyre that left a trail like a giant slug
Windserver platform on its way to the Rhyl Offshore Wind Farm
Lovely sky as we set off on our afternoon walkies
Looking into the sun - Gry Maritha on her way to Scilly with Wolf Rock lighthouse just visible
Very muddy patch of footpath - fortunately you can turn down onto the little field alongside
Home in time for the last barbecue - was rather cold out there but the spiced chicken cooked well and tasted good.
Sadly although this barbecue hasn't been used much this year it's time it went to the tip as the burner is getting rusty and the knobs don't work
Setting sun started to colour the high cloud all round the bay
Sun going down as the gulls stream out to sea
This sky was right behind the pine trees, so had to go along the drive - just shows how the right light can even make an ugly poolhouse roof look good
What a big beach ! The clarity and colours are wonderful. Two years ago we were on Scilly this week and the weather was fantastic.Everywhere has quietened down...until half term ! Thank you Sue.(your chicken looks scrummy !)we have managed one barbecue this year ! macca.
ReplyDeleteIt was a really super day - sadly it's rained all day today. The poor barbecue hasn't been used as much as usual and it was its second year - sadly they just tend to rust away. Hopefully dry tomorrow but no sun expected. Sue
DeleteWOW, what wonderful photo's and such a beautiful day, same here, Charlestown was our walk today, and it was beautiful also. Wooster & Tilly must be so pleased to have the freedom of the beach again. Thankyou both of you, much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteJust a pity that we seem to just get one day - then back to rain. We try to enjoy the good days we have. Sue
