Early start as Jim' car was off to Helston for a service and MOT - I went to pick him up and although it was cloudy and slightly damp we parked in the woodland car park at Penrose and took the dogs for a walk
Those darn squirrels again
Down the drive to The Stables for coffee
While we were there this came past - the lucky young man who unexpectedly inherited Penrose - well the parts that are not National Trust
Handsome boy thinking about how to get up the trees to the Squirrels
Wooster enjoying the woodland which is a nice change from all the coastal walking
Just a bad shot of a Comma butterfly - have only ever seen 2 or 3
Lots of these Gatekeeper butterflies around
The Loe
We sat on a seat with a lovely view and Maisie went up on the wall for a better view
But it was a nice view
We arrived at the point on the path where the view changed dramatically - looking over to Prussia Cove where we were on Sunday
Chimney and Engine Houses of the Trewavas Mine
Lovely boat but no AIS
Nice Thistle
Looking along to Porthleven - but it was really windy there and we had now heard that Jim's Yeti had failed it's MOT - mainly due to not being driven for 3 months the brakes had corroded - so now not collecting until tomorrow !
A glimpse over towards RNAS Culdrose
Small Tortoiseshell dropped onto the path - then flew off again
Merlin
Magnificent Vetch rambling all over these plants
Lovely bright Goldfinch
Distant Hawk jet
Common Buzzard came over the fields and we could hear a youngster shouting below us
When we got home the lovely boat came past
Exactly halfway and looking good - now he has to do it all over again
