Thursday

Rain early on, but we still had the mist or fog until it eventually cleared at lunchtime
Suddenly butterflies have appeared everywhere
Was still really warm and humid and there were plenty of people enjoying the beach
Nice and calm for paddle boarding

Started to look rather dark over the bay

The bottom of the big sloping field is a mass of Thistles - and butterflies were all over them - lovely Small Tortoiseshell
First Common Blue of the year
There were several of them

Lots of other insects were also enjoying the pollen

Did look rather dark as we walked down the hill

Well that's it !  Jobs all done and the builders have finished (apart from the coping stones on the balcony wall - sadly - long wait for those)  All rubbish removed - now I just need to clean the house. Unfortunately we will need to keep the windows shut  for a while as we have been inundated with Thunder Flies - hundreds of them - little tinkers zooming around - gather it's probably to do with all the planting - but we've never suffered like this before
