Sad sight of a major fire up on the moorland at Bartinney. This piece was written by Martin Cavell
"Bartinney nature reserve has been criminally destroyed . A fireman told me the fire started last night . Fire crews are in attendance , but in truth there is little they can do in these winds but concentrate on protecting homes . Whoever started this is , at best irresponsible . I arrived at midday and watched the fire slowly cover the whole of Bartinney , I saw Skylarks , Linnets , warblers , dunnocks and a short eared Owl all flee in terror , I also saw voles escaping . Many Adders and small mammals would have gone to ground and perished , what for ? Nature will reclaim it in a few years , that is true , but for now this wildlife habitat is barren .
Wolf Rock just showing beyond the stripy sea
Nice patch of Campion
Used a filter to make the show up. Think they are Lenticular clouds
