Jim's photos of our Isles of Scilly holiday

The Lovely Irene at anchor in the golden light of the sunset
Seahorse on her way back from St Agnes

Not quite a proper sunset - but pretty

St Agnes with Turks Head shining white
Tuesday morning

Looking down the Tresco Channel with Cromwell's Castle and King Charle's Castle just at the top edge of the photo
St Agnes Boating's Enterprise looking very smart this year
Endeavour off on a wildlife safari
Beautiful morning
Spirit of St Agnes with Firethorn heading towards Tresco
Always a favourite and colourful spot
Wooster enjoying the Lower Moors Nature Trail heading to Old Town
After Coffee and Merengue & cream at the cafe we set off over Peninnis
Old Town Bay
Nice smooth landing

Climbing up
Over to the other side

Looking in towards Porthcressa

Hot dog
Still there
Bishop Rock Lighthouse nice and clear over Annet

Calypso II now under new command heading back from St Agnes
Off went Irene

Unfortunately we decided to do a trip to Annet to see the Puffins and then onwards to St Agnes - hoping that the mist and mizzle would not arrive too early - Unfortunately our "Captain decided to take us on a different course and we ended up in a huge swell which was totally the wrong thing for my already painful back. As we arrived so did the mizzle so a few difficult shots whilst we bounced around before having to put the cameras into the rucksac. We never made it to Annet as the mizzle was so bad and the faces of the passengers  must have been a fair indication that "enough was enough"  We then heaved our way to St Agnes where one game couple got off and the rest of us were taken back to St Mary's. Wooster and Maisie were really very upset and unhappy so we went straight back to our room to dry off and warm up

At least Jim got a couple of Puffin photos
Starting to lose their bright Spring colouring
Next Morning and there was still quite a swell out there

Wooster complaining that I'm too slow - Garrison walk was all I could manage with my back pain so much worse

Maisie enjoying every hole and gap in the wall
Woolpack Battery
One of the Penzance Helicopters

Love this spot - Morning Point
Porthcressa - before Wally the Walrus arrived

Super bank of flowers
Wooster looking a bit concerned about "Hissing Sid"
Nah ! I'm not scared !!
Porthcressa
Met Ritchie and Jill Christopher with the super young Nala
Dogs all very well mannered

Jim spotted a few gigs
Next morning small cruise ship Island Sky had arrived

Sea King off to St Agnes
Island Sky carried her own inflatables and they collected their passengers from the rear

Through the trees for a change
Setting sun on Island Sky
Stonechat
Always looks odd when The Bishop looks like it's on Annet

Ah that's better
Busy busy
The wind direction was brining the landing planes over us

Wally the Walrus was hauled out onto Nut Rock
So many larger yachts appearing due to Covid restrictions
The view from the steps to The Star Castle
That's an unusual one

Traditional Gaff Cutter Amelie Rose
Nala again and this time Wooster was off the lead
Come and play !
Sadly this was our last night and the clouds were already building
It started raining during the night and continued for most of the morning. We walked into Hugh Town and were lucky to get a table in The Atlantic where we had a super fish & chips. Then we walked to the quay and Jim took the dogs for a final walk before boarding.

The trip back was somewhat livelier than the usual "downhill all the way" but we arrived safely and the car was retrieved from Isles of Scilly Parking very smoothly.

  1. Very sorry you had back trouble Sue. Sure puts a dampener on a holiday. Hope it is beginning to improve now.
How did Maisie go on the trips over and back? Looks like she enjoyed the walks.
Looked quite busy with boats and yachts and planes. The photos are lovely.
    Take care, both of you.
    Gentle hugs.
    Betty.

  2. Back not too bad as trying to take it easy !
Maisie did well - she just curls up and waits for it to be over. She enjoyed the change of scene but is glad to be back on her field again. Sue
