Holiday photos - if you wish to see them ! Hunters Inn, Heddon's Mouth. North Devon and Boscastle

First stop - Hunter's Inn at Heddon's Mouth. North Devon. Staying in the lodge as we did before
It was much cooler then !

Layers of cloud out to the NW
We were asked to take their photo - Jim doesn't do phones!
Looking over the Bristol Channel towards South Wales
Along the coast past the Valley of the Rocks to Lynmouth Foreland Lighthouse
Looking West to the land near Combe Martin
Starting the walk back

The wind in our faces on this part was horrendous, but better as we got further down into the Valley

BOSCASTLE
A quick shop at Sainsbury's in Barnstaple as we drove through and we arrived in Boscastle before lunch
Not easy launching the training gig
Large coach party of foreign students off on a long walk
Lovely Meadow Crane's-bill growing alongside the River Valency
       Super Common Blue
Lots of Painted Lady butterflies everywhere we went

Walking up the path on the opposite bank looking at Harbour Cottage and poor Goldie suffering in the heat!
Resting in the shade for a while
Walking up from the cottage and out towards the sea
Looking back towards the village

Maisie has really taken to this Ducky
We followed the field path to get to The Farm Shop - as you can see we had to cross a field of Devon Red Cattle - fortunately they have a reputation of being gentle. They had lots of young ones which was a little scary
Outside seating at The Farm Shop - large seating area inside as well as the shop
Walking back - looking towards upper Boscastle
Cattle had spread out across the field
Lots of them staying in the shade - close to the gate!!

Yes! that's me - my head had been burning so I bought a hat. None of cattle bothered at all!
The view from the little lounge window
Looks like their racing gig - Jan Rogers - heading though the shallows
Now to get on board!
Bee right in amongst the pollen
We walked out towards the sea and heard this blow-hole
Lovely out here!
Stonechat

The NCI Lookout
Might be a juvenile Stonechat
Maisie setting off with her Ducky

Further along the river we saw this Indian Balsam
Our favourite place to eat - Riverside Hotel garden
Lots of Jackdaws around
Sadly this Scarlet Tiger didn't open it's wings until it shot off - but it has wonderful bright red underwings
The very popular area near the quay as the tide come in
Summer Solstice celebration by the Boscastle Border Morris Dancers in the square by the Museum of Witchcraft

Sadly Maisie had stopped eating and had very "runny poos" which the showed some digested blood, so we decided we had to get home a couple of days early so that she could visit the vet. Such a pity as we had been having a super holiday. This was the last sunset. Pleased to say she has recovered after her Vet treatment and is eating well.
