Boscastle photos Saturday - Monday

Apologies for the lack of photos - my laptop did some kind of upgrade when I turned it on here and it's been playing up ever since - managed to get photo-shop to work in the end, so here are a few photos of the first few days

The River Valancy flowing down the valley and out to sea

Super riverside walk going up-stream - massive number of these type of Geraniums looking beautiful
Lots of Butterflies - think this is a Silver Washed Fritillary - there were two but one shot off as I pressed the shutter
Managed to knock the button and changed the setting on the camera so colour not right - which was a pity as it's been a glorious day
We walked a bit further along, but it was really busy and got rather hot for Wooster.
We walked up the hill to the cottage and now that the grass has dried out we carefully went down the steep slope into the garden - dogs were happy as it's properly fenced off so could be off the lead
Exploring the Fire Pit
Maisie enjoying herself
Some nice flowers including the Phacelias. Jim walked down the hill and bought some fish and chips which were really good.

Saturday

Greetings from Boscastle, Just a short drive to arrive before lunch. Lots of rain and big dark clouds en-route, but sunshine and blue sky here, Sadly the wind that seems to haunt us wherever we go was quite strong and chilly. but we found 2 walks that were sheltered. We are a bit concerned about Wooster as he's been drinking huge amounts of water - so not sure how long we will stay. Walked over 21,000 steps today, the last part steeply uphill to get back to the cottage !

Friday

Rain this afternoon was the forecast - but the radar showed a different story - approaching and due after 10am

It had been a wild night of wind and some rain

Sea was looking rather lively

Off she went - rather a misty view
Lots of white spume flowing around the bay

I popped down to the village to get a couple of Amanda's lovely posies of blooms from her garden

Since they are going into the downstairs lounge for my sister who is arriving this weekend I used a couple of old family vases

Old fashioned vase - but just right!
Had to load the car in the rain, but it almost stopped in time for Jim to take the dogs out

Galatea back in the bay from a trip to Scilly Afalina in the foreground

Possibly a surf school

Scillonian III on a lovely calm Mount's Bay
Afternoon walkies with approaching clouds and a strong E/SE wind

Wooster working those ears

General Cargo Afalina came in from Liverpool to anchor
Just sitting down to dinner and spotted SCIII returning in very different conditions - sorry just a snatched shot through the window
