The dismasted training ship the Fryderyk Chopin is now safely moored on a buoy in The Carrick Roads - due to the mass of debris from her rigging it is not possible to bring her right in to the port.
thic is the link to the BBC coverage of her arriving.
The Nova Spero has handed over the tow to a Harbour tug - a job really well done under the most horrendous conditions which saw her speed down to 1 knot at times.
The St Mary's Lifeboat escorted the tow for 19 hours and then I gather the Sennen boat took over all the way to The Lizard when the Falmouth Lifeboat took over. Fortunately they were not needed, but must have given all those on board the stricken ship some reassurance.
