As we walk back I turned to take a shot of this house in such an amazing spot - but the shape of the roofs seems very unusual - wonder if it was built that way, or if it's had lots of new bits built on at various times - it has recently been renovated and is looking superb.
I now know that it is a stunning holiday home - if you can afford it !

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteI've seen that house many times when we passed by walking towards Zennor Head to view a stunning sunset, but never did any research, the only thing I presumed was that it was used by the Coastguard. Now I found out: Name of the house is "Carn Cobba", built in 1938 and, after intense renovation now used as a holiday house. Room for a max. of 14 people for a weekly rate of 5000 Pounds during peak season, who can afford this? Bankers from London, Oil-Sheiks from Dubai? There must be some, because it's booked until the end of September.
Amazing - I meant to have a quick search for it but sadly was too tired. I suppose they get booking from groups of people or large families - wonderful view, but no beach until Portheras near Pendeen. Thanks for the info - fascinating ! Must look it up now I know its name ! Sue
DeleteHi again - see they have a photo of the cove below - don't know if you can get down to it from the house ! Sue
DeleteWe have stayed hear and go out of season but still get nice weather and great coastal views , the price at first is off putting but it works out quite cheap when you go as a group and pay a equal share per person and its worth the money. going back in the next few months and I cant wait!
