The Parade of Hounds

Several packs of hounds were brought into the ring - these are foxhounds
These are Minkhounds
At the end of the Parade of Hounds they always invite the children into the ring to cuddle them - I know there will be lots of you out there wholly disapprove of Hunting, but it is very much a part of Country Life.
We then went and had a quick cup of tea - Jim had a crepe and I had some lovely warm doughnuts (diet, what diet !) Unfortunately just as we were getting up to leave the  a huge black cloud which had been looming up towards us for over an hour, decided to let go and it came down in torrents again - we made our way along the ankle deep mud tracks out of the fair and up the really steep hill towards the car.  The tractors were busy pulling loads of the non 4x4 vehicles off the grass and onto the road. The beautiful grass of the Werrington Estate was looking rather sad !  Because the tractors were getting in the way of the exiting traffic there was a huge jam building up, so we managed to travel up the hill on the grass and leave via a different route to save time as we had quite a way to go !

    1. The main area of the fair was on the field next to St Pirans Hall - you might not even notice it as you drive by as it has a high hedge. We did enjoy it - we've had a busy weekend !Sue

    1. Sorry didn't think !

It's straight across the crossroads at the Chinese, round the bends and on your left - you probably wouldn't notice the hall - not a very pretty thing, but it serves it's purpose ! Sue

  4. What an amazing spectacle! The Falconry and the Knights and their horses must have been exciting to watch. Such wonderful, skillful and daring displays of these old traditions. Just a shame the rain was so heavy and constant.
