A super section showing "from field to bread"
Here is a shot of the big belt powered Threshing Machine arriving - it would originally have been powered by a steam engine
Here it's working and sending the straw down to a belt powered baler
Here the grain is being milled and sieved ready for the bakers who are in the tent behind
Getting ready for a spot of ploughing - with Bodmin Moor in the background

Cornwall Air Ambulance - why we need them !
Whilst we were watching the threshing etc. the Cornwall Air Ambulance arrived - I think that most of us assumed it was here as part of the show as the proceeds all go to local charities including the Air Ambulance.  But, as we walked into the next field, we realised that it was here "on a shout" and it was very serious. A young girl had been knocked down by a slow moving old vehicle, they worked on her for quite a while before leaving for Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. There were several police cars etc and the area had to be cordoned off, so the organisers had to use one of the diggers that was there to do displays to dig a track through a wall as there needed to be a new way to enable people to get from field to field - and back to their cars.
Sadly we learned later that she had died, but that the family had given permission for the fair to continue - as it's on on Sunday as well as Saturday.
