A surprise visit this evening from another USAF F-15 - flew in from the East and out to sea - but I could still hear the roar - suddenly I spotted it out above Lamorna and it screamed towards us banking past as it turned around the bay to head back East again (assume there was only one - last time there were two !) Why on earth they come all the way here from RAF Lakenheath just to literally frighten the horses and probably little puppy Sally !
We get used to the helicopters and Hawks, but these are a bit much !

  1. Bolar 11 flight ... doing the LandsEnd tour , unusual time to see them. It was two of them Sue, you only saw the one . They are very noisy at low level i.e. 250 feet . But ... exciting !

  2. Can completely sympathize as we have the end of the Miramar Marine airfield very close to us and have jets coming over frequently drowning out conversations, the radio etc. Also there are very large transporter planes coming right over our house as they can't bank and turn like the smaller jets. Methinks something is afoot in the Middle East - always a sign when these big planes are leaving on a daily basis carrying Marines and equipment.

    1. So sad that the world still needs planes like these - we're just surprised that they come all the way from the East of England to go to Landsend & back - thought everyone was trying not to waste fuel ! Still at least we don't have them or planes like them very often. my sympathies - it would drive me mad - suppose I'm just used the the tranquility of Perranuthnoe ! Sue
