St Ives for "Boats in the Bay"

For those who recognised it - yes it was St Ives for the day yesterday - when we arrived we could see the results of the recent  Northerly gales - huge amount of sand gone from Porthmeor  Beach - although fortunately they've obviously got plenty left !
First it needed to be dog walking time as they would be on the lead for the rest of the day - so we set off on the footpath that leads to Zennor and onwards to Lands End - not that we went that far - at least it had dried out since the last time we went when parts were very muddy.
We spotted the huge sails of the Newlyn based lugger Ripple coming around The Island - there's a fishing trip boat behind that huge splash - as you can see it was really windy in exposed places !
